It is the most beautiful location for camping
They are beautiful!
The accomodation at Roundhill is in luxury, 5 x metre Bell Tents, that are all individually decorated and furnished. It is a magical spot, where you can enjoy a private firepit and a secluded pitch, or choose to camp alongside your family and friends in your own exclusive area, with a shared firepit.
What a place!
& it’s weather proof
What makes Glamping at Roundhill even more attractive, is that you can also take one or both of the two beautiful, hand-crafted Mongolian yurts. If you are staying with friends, you can either use one as a (very smart!) mess tent or you can rent the pair as an ultra smart bedroom and drawing room suite.
Masses to do
games to play
Football, Rounders, swing trees & kite flying are all catered for on site, while there are board games and cards available inside the yurts. The local walking is incredible, there are lots of great pubs and amazingly, three tea rooms all within relatively short walking distance – see things to do.
Booking is easy and you can either use the on-line booking system, or if you have any question to ask, we can be contacted by email and/or telephone. It is always worth checking back because we tend to release weekends that haven’t been exclusively booked on a two-monthly lead-time.
To maintain the magical atmosphere at Roundhill, we do not allow cars on the site. Therefore, the adventure starts the moment you arrive at Firle, when you and your luggage will be transferred to a four-wheel drive vehicle, for the short journey that takes you up into the National Park.
Food & Drink
Fresh mains water is available on site, but you will need to bring your food and drink with you. Because of it’s remoteness, it makes sense to buy as much as possible before your visit. We would also recommend bringing a cold box because we are off grid, so no electricity. We can supply (pre-ordered!) ice.
There are loos and a hot water shower, together with an equipped, canopied kitchen area. Wood, coal and ice are all available to buy on site and are brought around on a daily basis. Please purchase wood from us as we are in a national park, SSSI and that to allow an open fire, we need to be able to trace the source of wood should disease appear in the area.
Bits & Beds
Bell Tent occupants will have double or single airbeds with throws, rugs, a lantern, bunting and pillows. Please note you will need to bring your own sleeping bag and/or bedding and blankets. We can of course supply everything for you (and even make up the beds) and please contact us if that is the case.
